Visualizing COVID-19-related Data

Through this infoVis project, my colleague, Hannah Tanna and myself (Eiman Elnoshokaty) have developed multiple visualization options of both socio-economic and health-related data from multiple sources in an attempt to explore possible relationships between the levels of fatalities attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic in a selection of world countries and the health sector infrastructure during the 10 years preceding the pandemic outbreak.



Library Catalogue: Video Tutorial

A group of 4 classmates, including myself, designed a video tutorial for the Out on the Shelves library catalogue. We were lucky to have on of the library volunteers among our group members working on this project. Through this project, we made use of different technologies and tools to create an effective tutorial that teaches efficient use and searching the library catalogue.



Contributing to the “Listening to the Earth” Online Exhibit

For the final project of LIBR 588 course: Theory and Practice of Oral History, in the University of British Columbia iSchool, my colleague, Derek Oxley and myself have worked on interviewing, editing, and transcribing an audio clip as part of an online exhibit, “Listening to the Earth”.



Subject Heading System: Development and Customization

For this activity, I partnered with three fellow MLIS students at the UBC iSchool to create a functional subject heading system that could be utilized by a selected user group. This post will focus on some of the difficulties that come with assessing and creating subject heading systems.
